The Marine Shark Jaw System is a robust and essential component designed for securely gripping wire ropes or chains, serving as a reliable brake mechanism to withstand substantial loads during anchor weighing, anchor dropping, and towing operations. This system ensures seamless deck operations by elevating the shark jaws during necessary tasks and retracting them to remain flush with the deck surface at other times, maintaining a smooth and obstacle-free deck environment.

Construction Details of Marine Shark Jaws System
The Marine Shark Jaw System comprises several key components, each engineered for durability and efficiency:

Shark Jaw Box: Constructed from high-strength structural steel plates, the shark jaw box features a sturdy frame construction capable of withstanding significant loads on the jaw parts and towing pins. Its compact design ensures optimal space utilization on the deck.
Jaw Parts: The jaw parts are designed with a link structure, allowing each tow jaw to flip independently. Driven by hydraulic cylinders, these jaws can be turned upwards to position the chain or wire rope between them. When retracted, they align perfectly with the deck surface, eliminating any obstacles. Two heavy-duty hydraulic cylinders, connected to the jaw parts via a lever plate, facilitate the extension and retraction of the jaws.
Towing Pins: These pins are strategically placed to limit the movement of the chain or rope between them, ensuring safety during operations. Each pin features a towing bollard that can extend and retract separately, driven by a hydraulic cylinder. The extending bollard can rotate to minimize friction and wear between the chains and bollards. The hydraulic cylinder driving the towing pin can extend the bollard to any position above the deck and retract it fully to remain flush with the deck surface.
Lifting Pin: Positioned between the two jaws, the lifting pin is driven by a hydraulic cylinder to lift the chain or rope from the bottom to the top of the wedge apex between the jaws, facilitating easy handling and positioning.
Hydraulic Pump Station and Electric Control System: The Marine Shark Jaw System is equipped with a separate hydraulic pump station to ensure independent operation unaffected by other devices. The pump station is strategically placed close to the shark jaw to minimize pipeline length and enhance efficiency. The electric control system offers precise control over various functions:
- Jaw Turning: Allows random turning of any jaw.
- Towing Pin Extension/Retraction: Enables random extension and retraction of any towing pin, with the ability to stop at any height.
- Lifting Pin Extension/Retraction: Similar to the towing pin, the lifting pin can be extended and retracted randomly and stopped at any height.
- Quick Release: Facilitates rapid retraction of towing pins, lifting pins, and jaws to avoid impact on the chain or rope.
- Emergency Release: Equipped with an accumulator system, the Marine Shark Jaw System can supply 24V DC emergency power to the solenoid valve in case of power loss, enabling the accumulator to retract towing pins, lifting pins, and jaws safely.
