Marine 3G Series Three Spindle Screw Pump
Overview
The 3G series three – spindle screw pump includes general – purpose type 3G marine universal pump and three special screw pumps. The three – spindle screw pump is a positive displacement rotary pump. Inside the pump casing, three screws with spiral grooves engage with each other. When the active screw is driven by the driving motor to rotate, the passive screws which are in meshing connection with it are driven to rotate. The liquid is trapped in the sealed cavity formed between the screws and the pump casing, and is continuously conveyed from the suction end to the discharge end along the axial direction of the screws, forming a continuous, stable, and low – pulsation pressure liquid flow.
Performance Range
- Applicable media: Suitable for conveying various non – solid – particle lubricating oils and liquids similar to lubricating oils. The viscosity range of the conveyed medium is generally from 1.2°E to 100°E (approximately equivalent to 10 – 1500 cSt). For media with higher viscosity, heating or dilution measures can be taken before pumping to reduce the viscosity to within the allowable range.
- Flow range: 0.2 – 590 m³/h.
- Pressure range: The working pressure can reach 6.3 MPa, and the maximum temperature is 150°C.
Structural Characteristics
- Simple structure: It mainly consists of a pump casing, three screws (one active screw and two passive screws), a seal, a bearing, etc. The pump casing has various forms, generally small – flow (0.2 – 6.5 m³/h) pumps use an integral (stuffing box) pump casing, which is sealed with packing; medium – and large – flow pumps mostly use a double – suction split – type pump casing, and the seal can be a mechanical seal or packing seal according to the conveyed medium.
- Convenient installation form: The pump can be installed in horizontal or vertical form, and the driving motor can be a direct – connected or belt – driven AC or DC motor.
- Reliable operation: The three screws are in meshing connection, and the active screw drives the passive screws to rotate. There is a layer of oil film between the screws and the pump casing, which reduces friction and wear, and ensures a long service life.
- Good self – priming ability: The pump can suck liquid from a low – pressure or vacuum container, and the self – priming height is related to the viscosity of the conveyed medium. Generally, for low – viscosity media, the self – priming height can reach 3 – 4 m.
- Low noise and vibration: The pump operates with low noise and small vibration, providing a good working environment.
- High efficiency: The pump has high volumetric efficiency and mechanical efficiency, and the total efficiency is relatively high, which can save energy.
Construction
The pump has relatively few structural forms. Generally, small – flow (0.2 – 6.5 m³/h) pumps use a stuffing – box – type pump casing, and the pump shaft and stuffing box are a separate part. The middle and large – flow pumps have a separate suction port. The pump casing is a double – suction split – type structure, and the stuffing box is made of different materials according to the conveyed medium. The installation form of the pump can be horizontal or vertical, and the driving motor can be an AC or DC driver. For marine application pumps, the installation form can be horizontal or vertical, with marine AC and DC drivers. Long – shaft type: The drive screw is the active screw, and the driven screw is in mechanical connection with the active screw. The active screw, driven screw, and pump casing form a sealed cavity. The oil in the sealed cavity is pressed by the driven screw, and the oil film between the drive screw and the driven screw, the screw and the pump casing set, and the oil film on the end face of the screw form a continuous oil film, so the mechanical friction is small, and the service life is long.
Performance Data Tables
Due to the large number of performance data tables (multiple tables with different pump models, speeds, flow rates, heads, powers, efficiencies, and NPSH values), here is a partial representation of the table structure:
| Series/System Code | Model | Speed (r/min) | Flow Rate (m³/h) | Head (m) | Power (kW) | Efficiency (%) | NPSH (m) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3G | 3G8x3 – 13 | 1500 | 8 | 13 | 1.5 | 35 | 2.0 |
| 3G | 3G12x3 – 16 | 1500 | 12 | 16 | 2.2 | 40 | 2.0 |
| … | … | … | … | … | … | … | … |
The full set of performance data tables provides detailed parameters for different pump models under various operating conditions, which can be used for pump selection and system design.
