Carbon Fiber Gasket Rope
Carbon fiber gasket rope is mainly composed of carbon fibers. The academic name of carbon fiber is “polyacrylonitrile – based carbon fiber”. It is a composite material prepared by carbon fibers and related matrix resins (such as epoxy resins). Its multiple physical and mechanical properties can be comparable to those of metals. Due to its unique high – temperature resistance (>3000°C), burn – through resistance, low thermal expansion coefficient, high specific strength, and high specific modulus, it is widely used in fields such as aerospace, aviation, chemical industry, electronics, and sports equipment. Carbon fiber is mainly a special fiber composed of carbon elements, and its carbon content varies with different types, generally above 90%. Carbon fiber generally has the properties of carbon materials, such as high – temperature resistance, wear resistance, electrical conductivity, heat conduction, and corrosion resistance. However, unlike general carbon materials, its appearance has significant anisotropy, is soft, and can be processed into various fabrics, showing high strength along the fiber axis. Carbon fiber has a low specific gravity, so it has a high specific strength. Therefore, carbon fiber gasket ropes have good thermal conductivity, wear resistance, chemical stability, high mechanical strength, and low starting torque, so they will not cause damage to the pump shaft and have a long service life. They are ideal materials for various dynamic and static seals. Carbon fiber gasket ropes are suitable for sealing in acid and alkali – corrosive liquids, organic solvents, etc., and are used for flanges, valves, reaction vessels, and pump seals in industrial fields such as petroleum, chemical industry, chemical fiber, coal mining, power generation, and metallurgy. They can be mixed and braided (or customized) according to actual working conditions.
- Operating Temperature: -50°C – 350°C
- Operating Pressure: 15 Mpa
Aramid Fiber Gasket Rope
Aramid fiber gasket rope is woven by aramid fibers impregnated with polytetrafluoroethylene emulsion and processed with lubricants. They have good chemical resistance, high resilience, and low cold – flow. They have good properties of high rotational speed and high modulus (known as artificial metal wires). Its strength is three times that of metal wires, and its weight is five times lighter than that of metal wires. So compared with other types of gasket ropes, it can resist granular media and higher temperatures, and can be used alone or in combination with other gasket ropes. It is recommended for use with superheated steam, solvents, liquefied gas, sugar slurry, and other easily abrasive fluids. It is applied to the sealing of pumps, valves, and rotating machinery in industrial fields such as petroleum, chemical industry, chemical fiber, coal mining, power generation, and metallurgy. It can be mixed and braided (or customized) according to actual working conditions.
- Operating Temperature: -80°C – 260°C
- Operating Pressure: 25 Mpa
