Marine Hot Well
Instruction
The hot well is one of the most important parts of the combination systems of fuel-oiling exhaust gas and boiler. Its main function is to cool the steam — the working medium after circulation inside the exhaust gas boiler — back into water, which is then reused for continuous system circulation. This helps economize fresh water and utilize the remaining heat from the steam.
During circulation, the working medium is inevitably polluted by oil and other impurities. The hot well also serves as a purification device for the circulating working medium. When the medium condenses into water and passes through the hot well, oil and impurities are filtered out and discharged into a storage tank. The filtered condensate water can be treated by adding a specific proportion of chemical agents to improve and soften water quality, thereby reducing scaling on boiler heat exchange surfaces and corrosion of the circulation system.
