Multi-Stage Separation Process:

The separator employs a sophisticated three-stage separation process:

1. First Stage – Cone Plate Gravity and Coalesce Separation: Utilizing cone plate technology and coalescence, this stage effectively separates oil from water, even in challenging conditions caused by emulsions generated by feed pumps under pressure. The bilge water is drawn into the first-stage coalescer separator by a vacuum negative pressure feeding pump, preventing separation difficulties.
2. Second Stage – Fiber Filter: The liquid emerging from the feeding pump is adsorbed and filtered through a high-efficiency fiber filter, removing smaller oil particles and impurities, preparing the water for the final treatment stage.
3. Third Stage – Membrane Permeation: The treated water then passes through a membrane permeation system, ensuring the effluent meets the discharge standards set by IMO MEPC.107(49). This advanced membrane technology guarantees the removal of even the smallest oil droplets.

Automatic Monitoring and Alarm System:

A 15ppm bilge alarm is installed in the ship’s cabin to continuously measure the oil content of the effluent. If the oil content exceeds the limit, the system automatically switches to the third-stage membrane treatment process. Additionally, an alarm is triggered, and an unqualified water pneumatic three-way valve (VS6) opens automatically, redirecting the unqualified water back to the bilge instead of discharging it overboard, ensuring environmental compliance at all times.
