Jacket water preheating unit
1. Overview
The JWDR Series Jacket Water Preheating Unit is designed for preheating the cylinder block prior to cold starting a diesel engine, ensuring the cylinder temperature reaches the correct starting condition. When the cylinder temperature falls below the required starting threshold, the unit automatically heats the internal circulation freshwater via the cylinder liner water heating system. This elevates the temperature of the diesel engine’s internal circulation freshwater, thereby increasing the cylinder temperature to meet the engine’s starting requirements. Based on the heating method, units are categorized as electric heating or thermal fluid heating (steam or thermal oil).

3. Technical Features
- Control: Temperature is automatically regulated to maintain the water temperature within the range of 25 – 60°C. When the temperature exceeds 60°C, heating automatically stops and an alarm is triggered (temperature value adjustable). An ultra – high temperature alarm is set; the unit automatically shuts down if the temperature exceeds 85°C; it also automatically shuts down when the water level is low. Features include Automatic Control (automatic heating, automatic stop) and Manual Control.
- Protection: Includes protection against overload, short circuit, overheating, sound and light alarm, and water shortage alarm.
- Reliable: Comprises a 40mm – thick insulation layer, double – sided sealed welding for the tank body, and solid material selection.
- Easy Maint: Vibration – resistant, shock – resistant, low failure rate, and easy maintenance.
- Safety: When the water level falls below the float switch, it immediately cuts off the power supply and triggers an alarm to prevent dry – burning damage.
