IS Series Clear Water Centrifugal Pump

1. Brief Introduction

  1. The IS series comprises single – stage, single – suction (axial – inlet) centrifugal pumps, suitable for industrial and urban water supply and drainage, as well as agricultural irrigation. They can be used to transport clean water or physical and chemical properties similar to clean water, with a medium temperature not exceeding 80℃.
  2. IS series performance scope (calculated by the design point)
    • Speed: 2900r/min and 1450r/min
    • Inlet diameter: 50 – 200mm
    • Flow rate: 6.3 – 400m³/h
    • Head: 5 – 125m

2. Choice of the Pump

When consumers choose the specifications of the water pump, the following points should be noted:

  1. The flow rate of the selected water pump should be less than the normal water volume of the well or other water sources. And the low – water – season factor should be considered properly. The head of the selected water pump should be according to the practical needed delivery lift, and the pipeline loss of the water pump should be considered.
  2. When choosing the water pump, the installation height of the water pump should be considered, that is the length of the perpendicular line between the inhaled liquid level and the water pump axes should be less than the assigned height of the pump.
  3. Estimation of the installation height (Hsz) of the water pump
    • Formula: Hsz ≤ Ha – Hv – ∑Hs – [NPSH]
    • Where: Ha = 10.33(m) standard atmospheric pressure (water column); Hv = 0.24(m) vaporization pressure (water column) of the normal – temperature clear water (20℃); ∑Hs = suction pipeline loss, calculated according to the practical situation; [NPSH] = permitted cavitation margin. [NPSH] is related to the temperature cavitation capacity which is set according to the allowed汽蚀余量 (cavitation allowance, here it’s Chinese, in English context, we can keep the term as is or explain as “the cavitation allowance allowed by the pump performance parameters”).
