A. Natural Rubber (NR)
It has good corrosion resistance to weak acids and bases, and salt and chloride solutions. However, it has poor corrosion resistance to oils and solvents, and is not recommended for use with oxygen – rich media.
Recommended operating temperature: -57°C – 93°C
B. Neoprene Rubber (CR)
It has good corrosion resistance to commercial oils and fuels. But its corrosion resistance to strong oxidizing acids, aromatic hydrocarbons, and chlorinated carbon – hydrogen compounds is poor, and it is not recommended for use.
Recommended operating temperature: -51°C – 121°C
C. Nitrile Rubber (NBR)
It is suitable for applications with good oil and solvent resistance within a relatively wide temperature range, as well as resistance to aromatic hydrocarbons, alkaline carbon – hydrogen compounds, petroleum, and natural gas. It has good corrosion resistance to hydroxides, salts, and near – neutral acids.
Recommended operating temperature: 51°C – 121°C
D. Fluororubber (FKM)
It has outstanding heat resistance (200°C – 240°C), and its oil resistance can be used for manufacturing cylinder – head gaskets, rubber bowls, and rotating – lip seals, significantly extending service life.
Recommended operating temperature: -40°C – 232°C
E. Silicone Rubber
It can be used continuously for 10,000 hours at 185°C, maintaining its unique elasticity and oxygen – resistance within the operating temperature range. It is suitable for making seals in thermal mechanisms, such as sealing gaskets, valve pads, and oil seals (suitable for aqueous media).
Recommended operating temperature: -70°C – 260°C
F. Ethylene – Propylene – Diene Monomer Rubber (EPDM)
It has good corrosion resistance to strong acids, strong bases, salts, and chloride solutions. But it is not suitable for use with oils, solvent – aromatic hydrocarbons, and carbon – hydrogen compounds.
Recommended operating temperature: -57°C – 176°C
