50 m³/h Advanced Ballast Water Treatment System for Marine Vessels
Our 50 m³/h Ballast Water Treatment System (BWMS) is a cutting – edge solution designed to halt the dissemination of invasive aquatic organisms via ships’ ballast water. By employing state – of – the – art medium – pressure ultraviolet (MPUV) disinfection technology, this system provides a chemical – free and eco – friendly approach. It strictly adheres to IMO (International Maritime Organization) regulations, ensuring the safety of the ship’s crew while effectively treating ballast water to comply with international environmental standards. This system is an excellent choice for medium – sized commercial vessels in search of a dependable and cost – effective ballast water treatment solution.
Key Features & Benefits
- UV Disinfection Technology for Invasive Species Elimination: This system offers a chemical – free treatment method that can effectively get rid of invasive aquatic species without generating any harmful by – products. It is a safe and sustainable way to manage ballast water.
- Full Compliance with IMO & USCG Regulations: It meets the stringent international ballast water management standards set by the IMO and the USCG (United States Coast Guard), playing a crucial role in environmental protection.
- Enhanced Crew Safety Protection: Since no active substances are generated during the treatment process, it eliminates potential occupational hazards for ship personnel, creating a safer working environment on board.
- Cost – Effective Operation: Compared to chemical treatment systems, our system has lower operational costs, which can significantly reduce the overall expenses of ballast water management for ship owners.
- Zero Environmental Impact: There is zero chemical discharge, and the system has a minimal impact on the marine environment, making it an environmentally responsible choice.
- Universal Water Adaptability: It is effective in all types of water salinity conditions, including fresh water, brackish water, and marine water, providing a versatile solution for different shipping routes.
- High – Efficiency Pre – Filtration: The 40 – micron pre – filtration system can remove larger organisms and particles, improving the overall effectiveness of the ballast water treatment.
- IACS Certification Guaranteed: The system is available with approvals from all major classification societies, ensuring its quality and reliability in the marine industry.

System Operating Principles
Ballasting Process
- Ballast water is drawn in through the ballast pump and first passes through a 40 – micron filter.
- The pre – filtration step removes large inorganic particles, zooplankton, and phytoplankton, preventing them from entering the subsequent treatment stages.
- The MPUV reactor then delivers ultraviolet irradiation in the range of 200 – 280nm, which effectively disinfects the water.
- The treated water, now free from invasive species, flows into the ballast tanks for storage.
De – ballasting Process
- During the discharge of ballast water, the water bypasses the filter system.
- It directly flows through the MPUV reactor for secondary disinfection.
- The ultraviolet treatment ensures that the water meets the compliance standards before it is discharged overboard.
UV Disinfection Advantages
- Chemical – Free Treatment Solution: No hazardous substances are used or produced during the UV disinfection process, making it a safe and environmentally friendly option.
- Instant Microbial Inactivation: It provides immediate effectiveness in inactivating microorganisms without the need for a contact time, ensuring quick and efficient treatment.
- Broad – Spectrum Disinfection Efficacy: The UV disinfection can eliminate bacteria, viruses, plankton, and other microorganisms, offering comprehensive protection against a wide range of aquatic threats.
- No Residual Management Required: There is no need for neutralization or secondary treatment after the UV disinfection, simplifying the overall treatment process and reducing costs.
