50 m³/h Ballast Water Treatment System | UV Disinfection Technology | IMO & USCG Compliant | BWMS for Marine Environmental Protection

Product Overview
Our 50 m³/h Ballast Water Treatment System (BWMS) utilizes advanced medium-pressure ultraviolet (MPUV) disinfection technology to prevent the spread of invasive aquatic species through ships’ ballast water. This IMO-compliant system offers a chemical-free, environmentally friendly solution that ensures crew safety while effectively treating ballast water to meet international environmental standards. Ideal for medium-sized commercial vessels seeking reliable, economical ballast water management.

Key Features & Benefits

  • UV Disinfection Technology: Chemical-free treatment that eliminates invasive aquatic species without producing harmful byproducts

  • IMO & USCG Compliance: Meets international ballast water management standards for environmental protection

  • Crew Safety Assurance: No active substances generated, eliminating occupational hazards for ship personnel

  • Economic Operation: Lower operational costs compared to chemical treatment systems

  • Environmentally Friendly: Zero chemical discharge and minimal environmental impact

  • Universal Water Compatibility: Effective in all salinity conditions (fresh, brackish, and marine waters)

  • High-Efficiency Filtration: 40-micron pre-filtration removes larger organisms and particles

  • IACS Certification Ready: Available with all major classification society approvals

System Operating Principles
Ballasting Process:

  1. Ballast water enters through ballast pump and passes through 40-micron filter

  2. Pre-filtration removes large inorganic particles, zooplankton, and phytoplankton

  3. MPUV reactor delivers 200-280nm ultraviolet irradiation for effective disinfection

  4. Treated water flows to ballast tanks, free from invasive species

De-ballasting Process:

  1. Ballast water bypasses filter system during discharge

  2. Direct flow through MPUV reactor for secondary disinfection

  3. Ultraviolet treatment ensures compliance before overboard discharge

UV Disinfection Advantages

  • Non-Chemical Treatment: No hazardous substances used or produced

  • Instant Effectiveness: Immediate microbial inactivation without contact time requirements

  • Broad-Spectrum Efficacy: Eliminates bacteria, viruses, plankton, and other microorganisms

  • No Residual Management: No need for neutralization or secondary treatment
