System Operating Mechanisms
Ballasting Process
- Water Intake: Ballast water is drawn in through the ballast pump and then passes through a multi – stage filtration system.
- Pre – Filtration: The pre – filtration stage removes large inorganic particles, zooplankton, and phytoplankton, preventing them from entering the subsequent treatment stages.
- MPUV Disinfection: The MPUV reactor emits ultraviolet irradiation in the range of 200 – 280nm, effectively disinfecting the water and eliminating invasive species and pathogens.
