How It Works – Three – Stage Oil – Water Separation Process
- Gravity Separation Stage: Bilge water first enters the initial chamber. Here, large oil droplets are separated from the water through the natural force of gravity, allowing the heavier water to sink and the lighter oil to float.
- Coalescing Filtration Stage: Smaller oil particles (≥0.5µ) in the water are then aggregated into larger ones using a coalescer. This makes it easier to remove these oil particles from the water, further purifying the mixture.
- Final Polishing Stage: If necessary, a third – stage dialysis unit is employed. This unit ensures that even emulsified oils are extracted from the water, achieving a consistent ≤15ppm purity level. The collected oil is automatically discharged to the sludge tank, enabling continuous operation with minimal manual intervention.
